The Cause of the War
After World War I, many events have led to the creation of the second World War. One reason because of the World War II, with the Treaty of Versailles, where Germany was forced to page large amounts of money to the Allies Powers in World War I. The Great Depression also caused the US and many countries in Europe to struggle economically. Because of this, Hitler was able to turn into a leader, who was part of the Nazi Party, which supports strong patriotism and full power in one power. After he became leader, Hitler started building an army, which helped the economy and made him famous in Germany. He then allied himself with Italy and later Japan, starting the Axis Powers.
Hitler start by taking over Austria and Sudtenland in 1938. However, the British and French let Hitler keep the land to keep him satisfied and prevent him from causing another war, which was devastating for both sides of the war. The Munich Pact was then created by Great Britain and France in 1938, which allowed Germany to keep the land that he invaded, but says that he cannot invade any more land. However, Germany invaded Poland on September 1, 1939, and Great Britain and France declared war on Germany, officially starting the war.
While the US wanted to help, America remained neutral, and didn't want to fight in the war due to the fact that it did not want to be involved in another World War. However, they did ship supplies and weapons to Great Britain and France, and they stopped shipping supplies to Japan with an embargo. The Japanese responded to this by bombing American ships at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, killing 2,000 Americans and damaged or destroyed 8 ships, hoping that the bombing would also keep the United States neutral in the war. This plan backfired, however, as the US declared war on Japan the next day, and a few days after that, Germany and Italy declared war on US, bringing the United States into World War II.
